Last day in DK and travelling to Qatar

Wednesday morning we went back to the house to finish the cleaning and to give the keys to Pauline, who rented our house. Here are some pictures of the real cleaning lady, who took the job seriously indeed:-).

We had some fun with an amount of trash, buying big plastic bags and beer, buying presents, and after we managed all that - we headed back to the train station, where I left my mum and Soffi (I don't know what I've done without her!) so that I could drive to GASA and deliver my car. From there Henrik and Anders drove me back to train station. We had a lot of luggage:

On the way to Copenhagen on the train:

Wednesday evening we stayed at a hotel near the airport in Copenhagen, and thursday early morning we took the shuttle bus to the airport. My mum had a plane at 10 o'clock to Budapest and we had a flight to Frankfurt at 9.05. It was pretty lucky... Actually originally it was even luckier, because we should have had a flight at 10.20, but because of the Lufthansa strike it was changed.
At the airport, already in the transit:

In Frankfurt at the gate to the Doha flight Soffi made friends with the whole flight, as at least 20 japanese students found her so cute that they started taking pictures of her and leting her play with their fancy cameras and mobile phones, thay laughed so much that the rest of the waiting passengers started lifting their heads up, and soon everybody was looking at us:-). I couldn't help smiling at this funny scene eigther:-)

This is on the plane very late, not sleeping:-). She found an Italian man as her best buddy, and was playing with him almost the whole flight:

Around 22.45 we arrived at Doha international airport, nice and warm, ready for a new adventure.

The moving ceremony

After talking and talking about that we are moving to Qatar, Tilføj billedethe day arrived when I had my last day at work on the 22nd of february 2010- a very emotionel experience - the same day in the afternoon 2 guys appeared at our door from Alfa Moving and started packing down everything we own. This was around 4.30 pm, where I was supposed to be at the post office, instead Nickolai arrived too to fix our roof above the entrance door, which was somewhat destroyed under all that snow, a little later Pernille and her wonderful family arrived to pick up a bicycle and a trailer ( that I got from Júlianna when she moved to NY in december 2009 - never got to use it:-) ) and some plants - maybe not the best logistics planning from my side, BUT nobody complained ;-). That's how it is, when you're short on time... And yet, I've not been to the post office at that point...
The guys kept on packing until 8 pm - well, if they'd known what the day after would bring, they might have packed longer:-)... but we didn't know...

Tuesday early morning I drove Soffi to her last day at Bentes, and hurried back because Bo and Kim (Alfa Moving) came at 8 am. They started packing... until around 5 pm... everything looked like following their plan as to finish around 8-9 pm.

My mum and I went to the bank, grocery stores, petrol station, cleaned my car, which I had to give back on wednesday... so we managed to organize a lot of stuff...while the packing went on at the house.
Around 3 pm a 40 feet container arrived at Jeppesensvej 4:-)

In the afternoon we went to pick up Soffi and say goodbye to Bente and Poul, who were so nice and made coffee for us, gave presents to Soffi. It wasn't easy to say goodbye to them either, Soffi got really attached to Bente during these 6 months she spent at her daycare.
Then we went home, and house looked like this:

In the middle of this mass we got two nice visitors, who also wanted to say goodbye to us:-)... Sofie and Soffi enjoyed pretty much this lack of order and found it amusing to play with the big table belonging to the garden inside the living room:-).

In the evening on the way to the hotel we stopped by for a China box, then we drove to the Cabin Hotel right next to the train station, where my mum stayed with Soffi so that I could go back to the house where the guys were sitll on... this was around 9 pm.

When I arrived back they were supposed to be done according to the original plan, and I was just supposed to clean up a little and head it back to the hotel... Yeah sounds like a nice plan:-)... Instead there were still boxes all around the house, they haven't even finished packing everything into boxes not to mention loading them to the container... And so I waited and waited, and finally where it started to clear out, I could begin to clean a little...

Finally the boxes were fully loaded at 1:30 am! A long long night for all of us! But

Be my Valentine

Eventhogh our daddy is far away, he did not forget Valentine's Day:-). Sunday when I went out to get Soffi inside from her afternoon nap I saw tulips standing front of our door... It is somehow amazing that today I can receive flowers in Denmark from my husband in Qatar!
Köszönöm szépen Kincsem!
They are even more beautiful in our new vase we got from Pernille and Joan as a good bye and don't forget us present, I won't and thank you!

Daddy has moved

As unbelievable as it is, I've started to write a blog. I've never thought I will, but now that our lives are about to change so dramatically by moving away from this well known life and routine I felt I should save these happenings in writing for the future. At the same time I have my doubts about how creative and persistant I will be:-).

Peter has today moved to Qatar for good. He arrived safely, which is nice especially after that we just had a terrible trip to Hungary last saturday with Soffi, where our flight was cancelled because of the weather in Hungary, and on sunday it was delayed because of the weather in Copenhagen.

We had to stay in a hotel in Copenhagen for one night, without our luggage and etc. alone with an infant ... not so nice... But it was nice anyway, because our daughter is an angel and she coped with the situation as a hero and afterall we had a relaxing night at the hotel, slept 11 hours both of us... well, I wouldn't have done that if wasn't for the cancelation, that's for sure!!

Peter is now sitting in his hotel room -well, probably eating his dinner by now - in Doha, he will stay there for another 2-3 nights and then he moves to the temporary house we get until our furnitures will arrived around the end of April.

We have 3 more weeks to spend in Denmark then Soffi and I will move after him. This is a strange period for all of us, but we believe that we are about to experience the time of our lives. Until that --- we have skype:-), and thank Gud for that!!! (and of course the guys who invented it)
